World Milk Day is celebrated on June 1 to celebrate the vital role of milk and other dairy products in our diets and to educate people about the numerous ways in which milk can enhance one’s overall nutrition and health. This day allows us to reflect on the significance of milk and other dairy products in our daily existence.
It is also an opportunity to promote ethical and environmentally favourable practises in the dairy industry and to demonstrate the significance of a balanced diet to an individual’s overall health and well-being.
In 2001, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) started World Milk Day to honour the dairy industry and bring attention to milk as a food. Since its start, the day has been used all over the world to bring attention to milk and dairy products.
The first of June was chosen because many countries already had their own national milk days on that day. The event, which was supposed to happen in late May, will now take place on June 1. Several countries are celebrating this day at the moment.
On World Milk Day, people around the world celebrate how important dairy is. The UN Food and Agricultural Organization uses this day to spread the word about dairy products. The important thing is that a lot of countries celebrate together, and India has been giving each person more than 300 grammes of milk every day for a long time. India has National Milk Day on November 26 to honour Verghese Kurien, who started the White Revolution.
