Cheteshwar Pujara Responds to Test Squad Drop

When the BCCI announced India’s Test team to play the West Indies in the Caribbean next month, Cheteshwar Pujara was noticeably missing. On Friday, June 23, a lot of important decisions were made, but the decision to suspend Pujara was the most important.

A day after India kicked him out of their Test team, Pujara broke his social media silence and told his fans how much he loves cricket. During a training session, Pujara showed that he was ready to work hard and keep trying to get back on the Indian team by putting in long hours of work.

After it was announced that Pujara was leaving the Indian team, he and Suryakumar Yadav, who did not make the West Indies team, were added to the West Zone Duleep Cup 2023 roster right away.

The 35-year-old posted a video of his batting practise while preparing for the Duleep Cup. It is expected that Pujara will continue to play county cricket after being kicked off the Indian team, just like he did before the World Test Championship (WTC) final. Pujara posted a video of himself practising batting to Twitter, along with two emoticons that showed how much he loves the sport.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been added to the BCCI Test squad for the two-match series against the West Indies that starts on July 12. Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav were two big names who didn’t play in the Test match.
